ODON, IN – On Saturday, March 14, 2026 at 1pm ET, Rep. Mark Messmer (R-IN) will present the retired former U.S. Army Warrant Officer David Scales with his Purple Medal and Army Air Medal which he has never received for his valiant service during the Vietnam War.

WHAT: Rep. Messmer presents retired former U.S. Army Warrant Officer David Scales with his Purple Heart and Army Air Medal which he has never received for his valiant service. The 82-year-old earned his Purple Heart for wounds received in action in the Republic of Vietnam on April 3, 1970, and his Air Medal for meritorious achievement while participating in Aerial Flight in the Republic of Vietnam during the period of January 4 to 13, 1970.
