WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Mark Messmer (R-IN) announced that he has been selected to serve on the House Education and Workforce Committee for the 119th Congress. In addition to this role, he will also serve as Vice Chair of the Workforce Protections Subcommittee and join the Early Childhood, Elementary and Secondary Education Subcommittee. “I am deeply honored Chairman Walberg has entrusted me with this great responsibility to represent my constituents in Indiana, and all Americans, on the House Education and Workforce Committee,” said Rep. Messmer. “For decades, government overreach and one-size-fits-all policies in Washington have stifled our education institutions, making it harder for American students to get access to the tools and learning environment they deserve. I am excited to work with my colleagues on this important committee, to rein in big government and unleash the American Dream for all Hoosier families.” “I’m pleased to have Rep. Messmer on the Education and Workforce Committee, particularly in his role as Vice Chair for the Subcommittee on Workforce Protections,” said House Education and Workforce Committee Chairman Walberg. “As a father and small business owner, he understands firsthand how to best serve working families and reduce government overreach. I look forward to working with him to strengthen our workforce and promote quality educational opportunities for the American people.” As Vice Chair of the Workforce Protections Subcommittee, Congressman Messmer will support Chairman Ryan Mackenzie (R-PA), to implement the pro-worker agenda House Republicans and President Donald Trump intend to deliver. Rep. Messmer also serves on the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Armed Services Committee.
